Some tunes that shake hands with Jade Tree emo, or bang on bits of 120 Minutes stuff and half-remembered Pixies riffs, or a melody from Mom’s Beatles records.
Bombastic moments break up the day, but it’s generally innocuous stuff. “Brightside” is the highlight, with its natural progression and pleasing add-ons.
If you already own the original release, there’re plenty of newbies here worth your moolah. If you’ve yet to experience the phenomenon… pick this up ASAP.
While Brazil is pretty obviously inspired by ATDI, it’s better than being yet another mop-top bunch of sissyboys inspired by knock-off Drive-Thru bands.
Straight-up rock record. Like Trail Of Dead, Love Battery, Hitting Birth, early Smashing Pumpkins, and other worthies that don’t heft as metal or splat as punk.
