Essentially two B-sides, a remix, and “New Noise” from The Shape of Punk to Come, this EP wouldn’t’ve been that necessary had the band stayed together.
Sweeping atmospheric keys, squealing metal sounds (literally), dirty guitars, and a strong melodic sense all filtered through a very analog-sounding mix.
While Amen is pretty standard angry rock/metal fare for those immersed in the underground, there are people who haven’t gotten further than Limp Bizkit.
Yeah, they like their breakdowns and their Metal Zone pedals too much, but they copy the heavy-hitters with enough of their own conviction to make it work.
Self-indulgent, non-linear, impossible to grasp, shapeshifting, and more of an expressionistic exercise than any kind of shared trip with the listener.
