Spunky bubblegum powerpop anthems by a blonde hottie, signed to Joan Jett’s label, Warped Tour darlings, with “Because I’m Awesome” in teen sitcoms I loathe.
Female-fronted psychobilly. Dark guitarwork, the singer belts it out and lashes against fashion/trendy music, but it’s a bit too self-aware for my tastes.
On July 19th, 2003, melodic thrash punk masters Propagandhi played a benefit show for Grassy Narrows First Nation Blockade in Winnipeg, killing it as usual over 17 songs of blood-boiling, spirit-rousing anthems.
They’re a little cheesy and overly glossy, with more cutesy Gwen cupiedollness than Bif Naked strut, but it beats rebel yell Avrilisms or another Pink song.
You either stuck by ’90s pop punk, grew out of it, or hopped on the “third generation of emo” bandwagon. All the Best Songs is clearly for the first category.
