MU330 don’t write the best melodies, but they do write great music to go underneath those sometimes disappointing vocals, so it sort of balances out in the end.
Currently, MM is doing that industrial-metal thing that’s all the rage. That’s all fine and good. Sometimes it works. MM’s crack at the genre is average.
Not since the Unsane have I heard aggressive noise-rock with such weight. You can’t hear the words, you can’t hear the chords, but it works in a big way.
When the other two thirds of Primus are removed, you really miss the psycho-sound effects, general guitar noodling craziness, and high-caffeine drumming.
