Like The Hellacopter, they dig deep into the vintage soul and r&b styles, so they lose a lot of trendy “garage rock” fans cuz they don’t wear matching suits.
Rock and roll that’ll remind you of your grandad’s scratchy copy of The Stones’ Between the Buttons and The Creation’s early Mod power pop (Who-style) singles.
This hip-shakin’ action’d surely appeal to Mod and nü garage fans who wanna dig beyond The White Stripes and The Hives and find some other good “The” bands.
These wacky Finnskis get better and better every time. More soulful, too. They wear their grimy Stones influences on their sleeves and kick out Raw Power jams.
There’re some familiar names, most of ’em, tho’, are not too well-known to me. The Scandinavian rock’n’roll invasion continues, but I think it’s a friendly one.
Sounding much less hard rock/metal than Payin’ the Dues, the ‘Copters cover two Smokey Robinson tunes, and The Flaming Sideburns’ “Ungrounded Confusion.”
