Yemin’s “main band” since before (and now alongside) Lifetime got back together. A statement on the beauty of hardcore, and a plethora of outsider music.
Beautifully arranged piano and guitar interplay blended with the bittersweet vocals create a wholly breathtaking and engrossing album that I fell in love with.
Denali create boring, lifeless, meandering songs out of seemingly perfect elements. Much better than the debut, but it still tips toward style over substance.
As much as I adore Tim Kinsellas’ brilliant wordplay (and articulate political stance), this Joan Of Arc album only leaves me yearning for an Owls follow-up.
