David Wayne (singer on the first two releases) reeks of ex-Exodus’ Steve “Zetro” Souza circa ’86. But Zetro didn’t have Vanderhoof as guitarist and songwriter.
The reasons this sucks are many. Most obviously: This style is now commonplace, unlike when Speak English or Die! came out and knocked us all on our asses.
Part black metal, part Goth rock/metal, all excitingly scary and sexy. For anyone into darkwave, Goth, or whatever else they’re calling it, ya gotta get this.
Think Mind Over Four, Thought Industry, Jane’s Addiction, or Candiria, metal without limits, adding a double shot of Brutally Truthful post-grind irony.
