Well-executed take on the alt.rock thing. The songs rely on the traditional verse/chorus scheme, but take each idea a step further to create a new synthesis.
The music is mostly your straightforward blues-based mid-’70s Noo Yawk kinda thang – sorta like the Dolls but with a real(?) woman belting out the vocals.
Sometimes turning it up with an almost-trying-to-sound-catchy-but-not-quite-cutting-it hook, at other times putting me to sleep with draining guitar solos.
A lot like watching cult videos on a rich kid’s parents’ projection screen, except the stink of popcorn and the sounds of Cambridge intellectuals getting deep.
