The best thing about Wayne and Jayne County is that they’re the same person. Wayne used to be a cross-dresser until he got the cash together to lose his essential Wayne-ness. Most of the songs on this album revolve around Wayne/Jayne’s novelty factor. Titles like “Wonder Woman,” “Things Your Mama Never Told You,” and “Man Enough To Be A Woman” pretty much speak for themselves. The actual music is mostly your straightforward blues-based mid-’70s Noo Yawk kinda thang – sorta like the Dolls but with a real(?) woman belting out the vocals. Why anyone would want 20 Jayne County songs however, is totally beyond me. A confusing release, in more ways than one.
