While I’m sick to death of breathy, squealing, whining, female fronted bands, I can get into Battershell. Noisy underproduced pop that’s got true NY grit in the nooks and crannies. The tender lyrics are like journal entries written on a shuddering, late-night subway; the sex is screeching with Hot Damn-esque parody, and they do a tribute to a cat named Mozart.
