MoonRage – Serengeti – Review

MoonRage

Serengeti
by Chaz Thorndike

There is a snide comment used by the self-appointed Boston elite that says that nothing good can come out of the 508 area code. While not entirely true, it fits in this case. While singer Tye Battisistella has a warm, spiritual voice, the music is completely ignorable. This is uninspired metal that makes Danzig sound innovative – like some kind of rock they play in a cover bar in the sticks. The exception is “Stolen Child,” a whiskey-soaked rock ballad that is so thoroughly miserable, I can relate. I envision couples swaying together, buttheads waving lighters in the air, and me at the bar trying to drink myself to death.
