Billy Goat – Black and White – Review

Billy Goat

Black and White (Mercy)
by Lex Marbuger

Part Urban Dance Squad, part War, part Chili Peppers, Billy Goat enters the “live rap” arena and emerges, if not victorious, at least mostly unscathed. They throw the Latin feel of congas and laid back grooves into the traditional white boy funk (which is quite good). Of course, there are crunchy guitars and sex-filled lyrics (“Unclog your drain/pull out your cup/dip me in your holy water”). Whether it’s a salsa-style ode to pig fucking or tribal chanting to the Goddess, Billy Goat has a big hand on the back beat.
