Drop Out (Theologian)
by Tim Creter

Are you looking for new metal sounds? Do you find yourself depending on aging groups like Slayer and Anthrax to satisfy your needs? Do you think that metal is dying? Well, brother, I’ve found the cure, and their name is 16. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, probably one of those radio-ready “number” bands, right? Well, nothing could be further from the truth. Featuring members of Fudge Tunnel and EyeHateGod, this band puts the heavy back into heavy metal. Their songs build on a tight, rhythmic foundation that lends itself to creativity and ingenuity. What’s that you say? You don’t like metal? Well, that’s your media-induced, Metallica-overloaded brain talking. If you consider yourself a fan of pure musical heaviness and muscle, check this out. The only thing on the con side of this album is that the lyrical aspect is a bit weak. But the music more than makes up for that. This band is a machine and will only get better. Look for 16, and when you find it, play it LOUD.
