Once again, those girls and boys whose battle cry, “Copyright Infringement is your best entertainment value!” is ringing from the rafters. The newest installment of Entropy Press, “The Mental Episode,” is a large poster collage filled with quotes, rants, random music musings (including “Bands I wouldn’t go see just because of their crappy names,” which include Bird Brain and Darling Picassos), and essays on the nature of the mind. The random clutter assembled on this page is exactly what Entropy Press wishes to achieve, so the order in which you see the articles depends on how your mind works. Sometimes I’ll be reading one article, and my attention will wander, I’ll be distracted by another quote, and I’ll think I just read “The real danger is that young people with mental illness never goes back to its world tour.” But, as they also quote from Robert Frost, “Any idea is a feat of association.” My copy also came with a poster of the cross section of the human brain. Also included is a paragraph based on the inability to quit smoking, the mental effects of orgasm, a poem about what if Hitler turned out to be an artist instead, and some pretty twisted horoscopes. With all this stuff, I don’t see how they can just give it away. I guess it’s a labor of love. They also have a web site that adds even more chaos to the mix.
