22 Jacks – Uncle Bob – Review

22 Jacks

Uncle Bob (Side 1 Dummy)
by Scott Hefflon

The first full-length release from former WAX frontman Joe Sib, and his all-star band, 22 Jacks, will be released on Joe’s own label, which launched WAX in the first place. Teaming up with Steve Soto and Sandy Hansan of the legendary Adolescents, Chris “Jackson” Shiflett of No Use For A Name, and Matt Riddle of Face to Face, one would expect great things from 22 Jacks. Judging from the 7″ on BYO and the split 7″ with Clowns for Progress on Diabolo Musica, and now the full-length Uncle Bob, you get the feeling you’re hearing the next power punk sensation in its early stages. With plenty of pop/punk tempo, artful attitude, and enough powerpop songsmithing to make it straight to radio overplay, 22 Jacks has got the goods to go the distance.
