Warzone – The Sound of Revolution – Review

Warzone

The Sound of Revolution (Victory)
by Tim Creter

So you’re in a band that’s been around forever, helped shape an underground scene, and influenced God knows how many bands. You soon find yourself on a label that has a lot of newer and younger acts in your genre, and you have to make a new album. What do you do? You continue to play what you know, without any change (except the metal fiasco), with the same style you originally had a decade ago. This is what I love about Warzone. In today’s world of constantly growing and evolving hardcore, they chose to rebel and do it the way they know best. Eleven new tracks of fast, energetic, positive, straight-up, old school style New York hardcore. Raybeez and his crew made the right move on this one, because as old as their style is, the new songs are extremely catchy and refreshing. There is a feeling present that you can only get from an old style played just right by the real McCoys. Produced by Dr. Know (Bad Brains), The Sound of Rebellion is non-stop enjoyment for anyone who needs back to basics hardcore.
