Deep Thoughts – Review

Deep Thoughts

now titled The Thought Remains the Same (Nitro)
by Scott Hefflon

Brew up a pot of strong coffee, kids, or else ya ain’t gonna last through this album. And there’s nothing more embarrassing than gettin’ winded ‘fore the show’s over. Deep Thoughts is exactly what this CD is full of if, um, your persuns of spoke are The Vandals, Guttermouth, and their clean-cut labelmates (note: “persuns of spoke” is the political correction of the gender-specific “spokesmen” – inspired by the humorish yet safely coffee-table-ish Politically Correct Tales series). Twenty-two songs, 50+ minutes of punk mayhem, plus a few history lessons and unreleased tracks for those who need extra incentive (this sucker’s FREE with a subscription to Lollipop, do you need more incentive, ya bastids?!?).

It comes with a mail order catalog, and is only $4 in stores. Bands to give ya the warm fuzzies: The Vandals (x4), A.F.I. (three from their record, one vinyl-only), Guttermouth (x4), T.S.O.L. (one from the record and another demo version), Jughead’s Revenge (x2), One Hit Wonder (x2), Sloppy Seconds (x2), and The Offspring (one from the record, one fan club-only).
