Closer Than You Think (Tooth & Nail)

I have mixed feelings about this one. Some of the songs are really good, but it just doesn’t pack enough hooks overall. Not that all good music has to have hooks, but an edgy pop-rock band like Puller really doesn’t have any other chance. The production is slick, the songs rock a fairly great deal, but there’s always the feeling of “OK, this is decent, but when does it start to really kick ass?” Puller is on the right track, they just need to get rid of some of the vagueness that surrounds most of the melodies.
