Automatic – Crossing Kill Creek – Review

Automatic

Crossing Kill Creek (Indecision)
by Tim Den

With members having served time in units such as Guilt, The Enkindels, and By The Grace Of God, I was expecting Automatic to be a lot better than the lazy-sounding Crossing Kill Creek. Maybe vocalist Matt Weider has yet to grasp the essence of being a frontman (he was the guitar player in his previous bands), but I can definitely attribute some of the band’s lack of energy to his limp delivery. Besides, the songs themselves aren’t eat-’em-for-breakfast beasts either. Tired-sounding drumming, weak riffing… just plain ol’ energyless. The fact that Good Riddance could’ve written a better batch of hardcore-with-a-bit-of-melody should tell you something.
