The Deadlines – The Death and Life of – Review

The Deadlines

The Death and Life of… (Tooth & Nail)
by Scott Hefflon

Damn, I wish I knew about these guys when I was puttin’ together the comp for Horror Garage… K, so you got yer basic graveyard rockin’ garage punk, complete with mortician fashion, ghoulish make-up, and they probably lug their gear around in a hearse… Most of the songs are pretty mid-tempo, bouncy (in that dark kinda way), have that go-go thing going on, and use that parlor organ sound I’ve never thought was very scary but every “spooky” band seems to use. Sounds like the freakin’ overly-vibratoed cheese they pump out in the malls near X-Mas… Whataminute, that IS scary! So while The Deadlines ain’t no Groovie Ghoulies, nor are they The Bomboras, what the hell do you want?
