I wouldn’t’ve given two shits if these guys weren’t German (novelty can be very persuasive), but Coach is not all that bad. Less emo and more dreamy-’80s The Cure-style softness, they hide tongue-in-cheek cynicism (see “Hey, You’re OK” and “Underworld”) with accessible pop, synths and danceable beats. That alone proves they’re using their heads. I wonder if all the boys and girls that Coach are trying to rock will notice the sarcasm…
