Murphy’s Law – The Best of Times / Good For Now – Review

Murphy’s Law

The Best of Times/Good For Now (Artemis)
by Tim Den

Two of Murphy’s Law‘s hard-to-find releases reissued on one disc. You can’t beat that! Not that I need to tell you why: This band has single-handedly preserved the “good times and beer” attitude in a genre (NYHC) that is mostly violence and tough-guy antics. They continue to churn out energetic records and live shows, blending ska and funk into power-chorded anthems and generally creating a party-like sense of chaos. We need more bands like Murphy’s Law, I tell ya. But even if there were more bands like them, it wouldn’t matter: Murphy’s Law are the reigning champs of New York Fun.
