Gaza Strippers – Electric Bible: The New Testament – Review

Gaza Strippers

Electric Bible: The New Testament (Triple X)
by Scott Hefflon

I admit to being a come-lately to the rock mayhem that is Gaza Strippers, but what’s important is that you finally do make it to the party, right? So while many know these guys from their Man’s Ruin release, Laced Candy, or their recent 1000 Watt Confessions on Lookout!, or the five-band comp, Five Fingers of Dr. X, released by Triple X, or hell, maybe ya even know mainmain Rick Sims from the Didgits or his Supersuckers stint, many are still catching onto these guys… And while I’d pick up the “main” releases before this odds’n’ends, this sucker’s certainly worth getting. Electric Bible: The New Testament is basically the European Electric Bible with the added bonus of a Five Fingers… track (“Low Dog”), two unreleased tracks from the Laced Candy sessions (“Pull the Plug” and “Laced Candy”), and a souped-up cover of Elvis Costello’s “Lipstick Vogue.” And as always, the ‘Strippers are kind enough to give us a sexy cover to enjoy while they melt our speakers.
