Cocknoose – White Trash Messiahs – Review

Cocknoose

White Trash Messiahs (Steel Cage)
by Scott Hefflon

Lawrence, Kansas’ ugly sons, Cocknoose, return with a fist in yer face and ten new tracks to bitchslap punkpoppers to. For those not familiar with the Confederacy of Scum, they’re the last bastion of gun-totting, beer-swilling, bare-knuckle-brawlin’ punk in the U.S.. And thank fuckin’ God someone’s fightin’ the good fight! Tuneful yet gruff, mid-tempo to occasionally fast-paced (without resorting to, like, metal), these fuckers cover Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues,” and hide GG Allin’s “Bite It You Scum” at the end of “Badstreet U.S.A.” without feeling the need to credit ’em (yeah, like if ya need that explained to ya, yer in the wrong parta town anyway, pal).
