Punkzilla – Review

Punkzilla

(Nitro)
by Scott Hefflon

Nitro saddles the punk genres pretty effortlessly on Punkzilla. Showcasing a few new signees – emo-punkers Rufio (track courtesy of The Militia Group), hardcoreheads Stavesacre (track courtesy of Tooth & Nail), poppunkers Divit (track courtesy of Coldfront), and Exene-fronted/ex-Distillers-backed Original Sinners (previously unreleased) – as well as the usual “middle school” and “old school mid-’90s” faves and a few “classics.” You decide who’s who: A.F.I. (three tracks, one being previously vinyl-only, and a video), The Damned, Bodyjar (plus a video), The Vandals (including the non-U.S.-released “Why Are You Alive?”), The Offspring, T.S.O.L., Ensign, Guttermouth, Son of Sam, and The Turbo A.C.’s.
