Shogun – What Sin has Twisted – Review

Shogun

What Sin has Twisted (Goodfellow)
by Adrian Bromley

Colorado’s Shogun have always impressed me with their kinetic, hyper-noise filled numbers, but for some reason, this four-song EP does nothing for me. It’s not bad, but the music is lacks the surge of intensity/complexity of 2001’s Iconoclast. I’m hoping this is just a bump in their road of creativity and that bigger and better things are around the corner. These guys are the best thing to come out of Boulder, Colorado since Mork & Mindy in the late ’70s, so I’m kind of rooting for them.
