Bombshell Rocks – From Here and On – Review

Bombshell Rocks

From Here and On (Epitaph)
by Scott Hefflon

Bombshell Rocks shed the Rancid-clone pigeonhole (but keep the great-sounding bass), and explore both Bad Religion-style Calipunk and their Swedish rock roots to distinguish themselves as a band to watch (or show up early to see if they open for a big band worth seeing). While the “whoa-whoas” and harmonies are pretty Bad Religion, and there are other strong hints of rampaging Pennywise and the like, the jangly guitar and powerpop melodies at times remind of Hüsker Dü and bands who stripped out the accessories and won you over with a few well-placed chords and a warm melody beaming through like the sun itself.
