The original Omen was the only film to make me sit whimpering in my bed as a kid. I couldn’t get that chanting music out of my Catholic-raised brain. I was pretty sure I was about to die a violent death, and I was genuinely shocked to wake up alive the next morning. Watching this DVD, I remembered my heebie-jeebies. Essentially a feature length documentary, …Legacy is narrated by none other than Jack Palance, who gives it that “believe it or not” feel. Here, you’ll find a well thought-out presentation of the mythos and beliefs that fed the creation of the classic first film of the series. We’re taken through each film in turn, with comments by actors, directors, Satanists, and other experts. Even circumstances about the infamous “Omen Curse” are addressed. Add in highlights from all the films and some rare set footage and you have a highly-entertaining and educational DVD. Bonuses include trailers and a featurette about the making of Damien: Omen II. I now have the bug to seek out all the films and watch them all in a row. Yes, I have a lot of problems and free time…
