It’s All a Long Goodbye (Eulogy)
by Scott Hefflon

From Boston, sorry. Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall and such grew outta hardcore (or outgrew hardcore; I’ll say it so they don’t have to) and started singing as well as roaring, and so does On Broken Wings. Much as people don’t like to face it, even KSE’s and SF’s clean vocals are pretty bad. We’re supposed to cheer the fact that they’re there, but neither singer actually has a very good singing voice. OBW’s clean singing is even worse. And the metalcore is pretty standard/generic too. Again, sorry to pick on a decent opening band, but as with a lot of metalcore, I can feel myself getting dumber as I try to finish typing this blurb.
