Head Control System – Murder Nature – Review

Murder Nature (The End)
by Scott Hefflon

A collaboration between Daniel Cardoso (ex-Sirus, Re:aktor) and Kristoffer Garm Rygg (Ulver/ex-Arcturus/Borknagar). Yup, conceptual metal with space, electronic trinkets, and some big rock melody. I’m almost as big a fan of The Man of Many Names as he is of himself, but I’m not too familiar with Cardoso’s body of work or thought process, so I’ll mostly blame him for this being not much more than a pleasant introduction to what might evolve into something notable, but is now little more than a sketch. Daniel Cardoso is no Peter Tatgren (Hypocrisy, Pain, Abyss, and producer to many metal greats), but who is? Hell, it’s better than most metal side projects, like that embarrassment that moron from Between the Buried and Me did a year or so ago, but really, let their mothers gush about what their boys have done, I’ll wait until they develop a bit more before spending much time with it. Good start, keep working at it.
