The Jungle – Review

Back in fourth grade, when our teacher didn’t feel like teaching, he’d hand out comic versions of Shakespeare plays. They were dumbed down and rated PG so we would “get it.” The artwork was shit, and the stories were totally off. Try to write a simplified version of Merchant of Venice for ten year olds. Not so simple, eh? Someone finally got it right. The artwork in The Jungle is cubist and raw, boxy and sad. The colors are simple, depressing, and magnificent. Picasso tripping his balls off. Awesome.
