Something To Divide
by Scott Hefflon

Noah’s Apathy are interesting because they blend favorite flavors with, well, shit. Imagine “yum, this is one of my favorites” followed by biting into tinfoil, making your fillings hurt. Or enjoying a $5 milkshake and suddenly tasting piss. So yeah, mostly a noisy rock or punk rock shell, with some good energy and peppy beats, then some metal riffing, some dumb-ass breakdown, some screamo hoo-ha, but then some delicate tinkerings and voicings, and some truly gorgeous, soaring melodies that raise your spirits, give you hope for all mankind, and then more hardcore grunting. See?

Not sure if such wide-ranging variety is a good thing. Cuz if they grunted all the time, people who like pig grunt would dig it end to end, and I could simply steer clear. Similarly, if it was all faggy clean vocals, I’d know to play it on only when wearing a leotard and those little slipper things I don’t have with the tinklebells on them. But now the meatheads get skippies prancing in their heads, and those wide-open spaces aching of human limitations are corrupted by the stench of sewage.

Get the band on the mp3 CD and let people send them urine-soaked love letters and tasteful flower bouquets stuffed in decomposing animal carcasses.
