Anyone into metal or stoner/shit-kickin’ rock in Boston has run into self-promotion king Duncan Wilder Johnson. Heavy metal spoken word this and that, couple of bands, the latest of which is Destruct-A-Thon. This five-song EP has a couple new tracks, a cover of Long Island’s Bravado’s “Heart Attack,” which is a great song which I’d never heard, so thanks to the band for bringing it to new light. The rest? Well, if you like Scissorfight and miss Sam Black Church and Tree, you’ll find plenty of stylistic rip-offs here. Which makes it a great listen, but not much in the way of originality.
