Where The Eagles Fly
by Scott Hefflon

While it’d be very easy to slag this band as a never-was (started in Sweden in the early ’80s, and never really got to playing/touring and recording, as “real life” kept getting in the way), this CD is no worse than dozens of classic heavy metal releases I hold dear, and I’ll have words with anyone who doesn’t give them their rightful respect. Sure, “Eagle Fly Free”-type Helloween is pretty cheesy, but it’s uplifting, catchy, and they wrote it and can play it, and most scenester bands can spike their hair better than play their instruments. So yeah, this here release isn’t necessary, but it’s admirably strong in a genre that’s waxed and waned in popularity over the decades.
