New wave was always weird, lots of gender-bending, and the drum sounds sucked and some of the keyboard sounds grated yer nerves. So this is pretty accurate.

Future Farmer puts out good indie rock I always kinda like, but figure Magnet, No Depression, Splendid, and In Music We Trust are slobbering all over, so I kinda never bother to review. Good songwriting, good vocals, good production.
When it’s sexy cabaret, it’s nice, but not as nice and dark and smoky as Firewater and a handfulla others, and nor nearly as deep and rich as Rasputina.

Long Island metalcore, predictable sameness of vocal and guitar tone and style, but just a hint of Dark Tranquillity melody amidst the mindless chugging.
Veterans of Lowercase, Sebadoh, and Red Aunts. They pen the clever lyrics and the hooks, but they also like a little feedback and drone and anti-tune bashing.
Only Crime isn’t averse to a melody, and their fierce delivery will shame most of the young bands trying to follow. Try to keep up, kids, this is how it’s done.
