The new class of Deep Elm-ers has big shoes to fill, but they are doing a bang-up job, thanks to the likes of brainy Red Animal War and sugary Brandtson.
Brandtson have finally hit their stride on this EP. Gone are the easily-recognizable influences, plenty are the slippery hooks and swollen playfulnesses.
The first three bands on this 19-tracker will prove that Deep Elm is THE emo label. None of their bands plays the dreaded genre of music without originality.
Leaning toward The Promise Ring and (gulp!) The Get Up Kids. A lighter, livelier, “less dark” but still great Brandtson with their solid sophomore release.
