Brazil not only produced Sepultura, it produced Overdose. The two bands began at the same time, but Overdose has only recently made it to American ears.
Musical proficiency and composition have increased, along with the heaviness factor, and their wit and sense of the ribald has sharpened since Scamboogery.
A higher degree of writing than on Cereal Killer. Playability has increased along with the production, enabling the songs to stand alone without the videos.
These guys were very tight and very funky. My only problem with this band lies in the tight leash they keep on the horn section. Let those horns loose!
This band has no leash on their horn section. They rip. The drum/bass connection was earthy and solid. The gorilla costumes they came out in were a nice touch.

From the first, anthemic notes of “Outside Looking In” to the drum work on “Monument,” the disc has plenty of audio tidbits for the avid music dissector.
