Labyrinth – Timeless Crime – Review

Labyrinth

Timeless Crime (Metal Blade)
by Scott Hefflon

A quick four-song EP of peppy European heavy metal (this sextet being from Italy) sure to impress those into fingers flying across a fretboard matched by a fleet-fingered keyboardist. Labyrinth combine warbling vocals layered thick in the chorus, dramatic photos of long-haired guys in frilly-shirts and black capes/cloaks, so yeah, you get the idea. There are singable choruses, a lot of impressive guitarwork (which usually doesn’t go anywhere, but it sure sounds cool), a ballad, and a cover of Nevermore’s “Die for my Sins.”
