Project Pitchfork – Trialog – Review

Project Pitchfork

Trialog (Metropolis)
by DJ Carrion

Being a long-time fan of Project Pitchfork, I was extremely let down by their latest release, Inferno. But just as I was thinking, “hmm… perhaps PP needs to hang up the Pitchfork and call it a day,” they released these two EPs (which are Parts Two & Three in the Nun Trilogy) and gave me hope that they’re far from over.

Each EP contains five tracks. Part Two of the series, View From a Throne, is the stronger of the two, showing off what makes Project Pitchfork so great after about 12 years. Strong songwriting and ethereal structures helped shape and mold this into a tranquil and enjoyable release. Part Three, Trialog, delves into the more poppy and upbeat side of Project Pitchfork. If anyone wondered what Inferno was lacking, you’ll find it on these two well-done releases.
