Never sure how to read this guy… Ya respect him cuz he was a founding member of Danzig and Samhain, but either he just likes to experiment and no one has the balls to tell him a lot of his stuff is terrible, or it’s an Ed Woods genius thing, where how awful it is is part of the campy charm. Lots of early Goth was pretentious garbage, rich baritone voice or not, and Danzig has crooned some pretty horrid stuff himself. These are home recordings, ranging from Tom Waits to Elvis/Doors worship, dark ballads to metallic guitar chugs over a drum machine. It’s as weirdly, cluelessly pure and demented, and as laughably horrible as it sounds.
