A parade of cliches, and with two Merciful Fate guitarists in the fold, you’d hope they could come up with better riffs, better songs, and less horrid lyrics.
I have a real problem with new prog wankery that can’t hold a candle to classic prog wankery, and the trendy indie dipshits who can’t tell the difference.
Good, chaotic, loud & boisterous, totally locked-in rhythm, freakin’ horns’n’reeds. Either from NYC or Chicago. A “band to know” nod from AP and an EP on Thick.
Fans seem content with “genre bands,” but the rare melody break of “Breathe for Me,” lets ya know this band has the goods, they just usually fail to bring it.
Antler is most of Roadsaw. Rich vocals and lots of tips of the hat to classic rock (and Southern rock), it’s just too mired in mid-tempo and weak balladeering.
