Pure old-style glam at its finest, with songs like “We’re Here, We’re Queer, Get Used To It” and a reworked Jim Carrol tune called “All the Animals Died.”
Drinkin’ beer, makin’ jokes, makin’ faces – this band was fun and energetic. Kinda twangy too. Had a bit o’ rockabilly in it; is this what they call cow punk?
A cross between early Pink Floyd, The Clash and Melvins, Steel Pole Bathtub shed some sweat upon Avalon’s stage and delivered a high-energy performance.
I came in as Tongue Lash played “Peace Dog” by the Cult. That about summed it up. This is either a solid rock ‘n’ roll cover band, or might as well be.
Some may think that this gentleman is The Next Big Thing, but, all you struggling bands out there, take heart. If this man can get an audience, so can you!
