This is what an EP should be: Short, sweet, and incredibly kick-ass. The new songs on this EP showcase a maturation of their evolving melodic death metal.
Two discs of tedium and mediocre metal.I expected more from Callenish Circle. Both Flesh Power Dominion and My Passion Your Pain were fast, thrashy metal albums at their finest.
They emanate the flow of Quicksand, Kiss It Goodbye, and the manic flare of Today Is The Day, but under underneath it all is rage, melody, and uncertainty.
These guys drive every cliché into the ground, but there are hints at actual songwriting here, and the vocalist might even qualify as a singer in another year.
There’s nothing to distinguish them from the rest of the genre bands, there’s absolutely nothing about them to turn anyone off, unless you loathe the genre.
Power metal from Finland. Slightly less embarrassing than some, but still goofy as hell. A little more manly than the frilly-shirted prancers, but not much.
Whatever, they’re on Relapse, social-political grindcore or something. Dated sound, unexciting and predictable, and the song titles are like 10 words long.
