The recording is lo-fi as all hell, and Godheadsilo play with a plodding, focused aggression that is similar to the Melvins, though not nearly as coherent.
A little more mid-tempo then I remember, but nostalgia and six years of shots could have affected that. Live versions of “Oh Ruby” and “Cool From the Wire.”
The huge and angry voice of singer Sam Ireland provides the melodic spearhead for what drives these tracks, namely bassist Debbie Quargnolo’s pounding low end.
The songs range from indie rock to metal to snarly Pistols-esque punk with a bit of Jello vocal jiggle. The production spotlights the siner and ignore the band.
