A 16-song set, including tons of classic material from Let Them Eat Pussy and High as Hell and Say Something Nasty. You also get an AC/DC cover (“Shot Down in Flames”) and a Turbonegro cover (“Age of Pamparius”).
Smogtown is influenced by the L.A. roots of Redd Kross, Circle Jerks, and, to a lesser extent, Black Flag. They have a sense of humor, write engaging and funny lyrics, and write feverishly fast and high-strung riffs.
Virus Nine has a very early Rancid/OP Ivy sound, and excellent songwriting. Two sweet covers, “Bound for Glory” by Woody Guthrie, and “Friends in Low Places.”
First release by Jersey Oi! masters Broken Heroes since ’99. Surprising, considering how good they are. Weekend Warriors show their steel city roots. Almost more hardcore than Oi!

It’s a relief to hear a band that’s obviously true to their roots of ’80s-style hardcore try to interject their own twist to that style, but it just doesn’t quite work for me.
As disgusted as I was with the production values, I did still get a kick out of seeing Euro-trash and South Americans beat the living shit out of each other for an hour.
Dropkick Murphys have stuck true to their Irish influence. They do a version of “The Dirty Glass,” the duet between ex-lovers, that is both comical and moving.
