While Brazil is pretty obviously inspired by ATDI, it’s better than being yet another mop-top bunch of sissyboys inspired by knock-off Drive-Thru bands.
Pop punk bands all with the same sound: Junction 18, Glasseater, and Dynamite Boy. New Fearless bands: Knockout, Rock Kills Kid, Brazil, and classic Big Wig.
Glasseater are one of those not-very-good punk bands that copped a different, not-very-imaginative style (in this case hardcore yelling) and still sucks.
Guitar riffs fly everywhere, drums speed up and slow down, the whole band stops and starts on a dime, and they even find time to give the bassist some.
Fans of Guttermouth and The Vandals who’re looking for a younger band to be kind of offensive, fast, snotty and, well, punk, should check out Beefcake.
Picking up where the the heart-wrenching aspects of their last effort left off, Vaya takes the band’s trademark weird vocal lines and amplifies them ten-fold.
Heavy without being overwhelming, attentive to atmosphere and breathing room, and with a nice driving beat. Then, Oops!, the rest of the song comes in. Bland.
