Classic mid-’90s fast punk from Jersey. Fans of NOFX and Strung Out’ll remember them. Fourth studio album. More political and socially biting than I remember.
As a retrospective, This Station Is Non-Operational decently chronicles the band’s growth from nascent emocore to writhing, salsa-infested post-punk hybrid.
Nothing original here. All of the songs rhyme a lot, and the vocals cling to the drum beat. They top off with “Hey There Delilah” to show their sensitive side.
Trendy keyboard, a dash of metal chug, layered harmonies. Wait, here’s where they rock out, there’s the droning breakdown, and yes, they close with the ballad.
While Brazil is pretty obviously inspired by ATDI, it’s better than being yet another mop-top bunch of sissyboys inspired by knock-off Drive-Thru bands.
Pop punk bands all with the same sound: Junction 18, Glasseater, and Dynamite Boy. New Fearless bands: Knockout, Rock Kills Kid, Brazil, and classic Big Wig.
Glasseater are one of those not-very-good punk bands that copped a different, not-very-imaginative style (in this case hardcore yelling) and still sucks.
Guitar riffs fly everywhere, drums speed up and slow down, the whole band stops and starts on a dime, and they even find time to give the bassist some.
