Atonement – Final Cut – Review

Atonement

Final Cut (Fifth Column)
by Rebekah Sue Harris

“Electro-industro-funk” is how they describe themselves: it works. Great groove, wonderful effects, nice production (even though there’s an instrument in there that sounds like a vibrator). It’s not as raunchy as I normally prefer, and the bass isn’t heavy enough to make one’s heart pound, but I still like it. It’s tame enough that MTV should be able to play some of the cuts, and funky enough that we’ll like it anyway. It might not be one of the best CDs of the year, or even of its genre, but it’s worth the money.
