Through his experiences in The Abyss and Hypocrisy (chores varying from drums to bass to guitars to vocals to penning lyrics, writing songs, and producing), Peter Tägtgren has a broad understanding of ripping death metal, glorious black metal, energetic thrash, and a surprising ear for passionate melody. Ranging from industrial metal to good ol’ foot-to-the-floor driving metal, Peter’s new side project offers songs for fans of Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, Testament, Alice in Chains, and atmospheric doom bands. That’s not to imply that Pain is a one-size-fits-all-by-not-fitting-anyone-well release, rather that Peter is a well-rounded writer/ musician/producer and deserves your attention.
