U.S. Bombs – The World – Review

U.S. Bombs

The World (Hellcat)
by Scott Hefflon

U.S. Bombs are known as one of the craziest live punk bands (something about a shot glass smashed on the forehead), so I’m always surprised by how tame their records are. Good, old-fashioned, thick-voiced, mid-tempo barroom anthem punk sway, but the Bombs don’t come across as wild on CD as they do in their shows. While you certainly get yer money’s worth with 18 new tunes, it’s more of a pleasant, thigh-slapping car ride than a demolish-your-room frenzy.
